Col Vetoraz is situated atop the Cartizze hills, in the heart of Valdobbiadene’s finest wine-growing area, where the steep pre-Alpine slopes shelter the vineyards from cold winds and create a natural amphitheatre perfect for viticulture and the production of quality wines. It was in 1993 that Francesco Miotto took the reins of the existing family business, giving rise to Col Vetoraz, a winery that established itself within a few years as one of the leading producers of Prosecco Valdobbiadene DOCG. Col Vetoraz’s Prosecco Brut is made from 100% Glera grapes, produced using the Charmat method. The grapes come from west-facing slopes, where the perfect exposure ensures optimal ripeness. In the glass, it has a pale straw-yellow colour, with green hues enlivened by lively, effervescent bubbles. On the nose, notes of white-fleshed fruit, such as apple and peach, stand out, followed by floral and vegetal hints reminiscent of wisteria and freshly cut grass; the palate is fresh and harmonious.
Ideal as an aperitif wine, this Prosecco pairs perfectly with cured meats and medium-aged cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.
