TASTING NOTES

Primitivo is one of the most ancient varieties in Puglia. A firmly structured, pleasant and fruity wine, an early grape variety but with important residual sugar. A relative of the American Zinfandel, it is a DOC mainly produced in the province of Taranto. Polvanera 14 is a monovarietal Primitivo vinified in the Marchesana vineyard, where the soils are iron-rich, dark and deep. The grapes are harvested by hand, macerated for a fortnight and fermented for a fortnight in stainless steel. The wine ages for 24 months in stainless steel and for one year in the bottle. Polvanera's Primitivo has a deep red colour, a perfume of plums, blueberries, spices and that typical note of Mediterranean maquis, warm and enveloping on the palate. A southern red wine with a spicy finish that goes well with grilled meats, pork chops as well as baked lasagne or dishes with strong, distinct flavours. A taste of Puglia to be enjoyed every day and to accompany grilled meat dishes, risottos or mature cheeses. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Polvanera

Along one of the most suggestive paths of the Cinque Terre, from the Possaitara Valley to Canneto, there is the Possa farm, owned by Heydi Samuele Bonanini. In this landscape all the agronomic processes are long, tiring and complicated, characteristics that are reflected in the unique and highly original wines, which tell the story of a heroic challenge made of sacrifices, willpower and tradition. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Possa - Via S. Antonio, 72 - 19017 Riomaggiore (SP) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
