TASTING NOTES

Production

The Velenosi family and their eponymous winery were established in the mid-1980s. A young and passionate enterprise that reinterprets the ancient traditions of the Marche region in a modern key, adhering to the principles of organic and sustainable agriculture through the use of advanced technologies whilst remaining true to tradition. Offida Pecorino Villa Angela is made from 100% Pecorino grapes, selected from vineyards in Ascoli Piceno and Offida. The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates and stored in temperature-controlled cells to preserve their characteristics. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks; fermentation begins with indigenous yeasts and is completed with selected yeasts. This is followed by ageing on the fine lees. E: kcal/kJ per 100 ml: 73/307

Organoleptic Characteristics

Brilliant gold with lively highlights and a fine, elegant and very persistent perlage. Intense, sumptuous and elegant, the nose reveals great complexity and intensity of white and yellow flowers, ripe and tropical fruit, pineapple, peaches and mango, with hints of acacia, lily, sage and chamomile, alongside subtle notes of vanilla and white pepper. A pleasant, silky attack on the palate. Long-lasting and well-balanced, with fruity and floral notes. Excellent persistence with a long finish.

Occasion and Pairing

Serving at a slightly warmer temperature enhances the wine’s smoothness and makes it easier to drink. Excellent with both fish and white meat.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 14–16°C.

THE WINERY

Velenosi

The history of the Venissa company is a long and complex one that still surprises today. Since its foundation by the Bisol family, the company's main objective has been to bring Dorona back to its place of origin. Dorona is the symbolic grape variety of the Venetian lagoon, known for its strength and great adaptability, ideal especially with the microclimate of the lagoon area. From its grapes comes a unique white wine: Venissa. Among the wines from Veneto, the latter is a product rich in history, able to tell the story of the lagoon and the unique characteristics of the territory with elegance. The company pursues its mission by maintaining its love for terroir and the special properties of the Veneto lands. Its hectares are located on the small island of Mazzorbo and are carefully cultivated, combining the traditions of local viticulture with the most modern techniques for a production that is both artisanal and up-to-date. Name and address of producer/distributor: Venissa - Fondamenta S. Caterina, 3, 30142 Venezia (VE). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
