TASTING NOTES

The Nebbiolo Ester Canale Rosso is born in the heart of the Langhe, between Serralunga d'Alba, Cerretta and La Serra, on a layout of 10 hectares of vineyards. The pure Nebbiolo grapes are cultivated respecting nature, in favor of the various phases of growth and maturation of the plants in the vineyard and of the raw material. Human intervention is minimized: pests, herbicides and herbicides are banned to ensure authenticity in production. The climate is continental with them hot, sultry and arid and very cold winters, characterized by snowfall and frost. The harvest is carried out manually and in the cellar alcoholic fermentation takes place thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts in cement for about 15 days. The aging takes place in wood for a few months and then is bottled. Nebbiolo Ester Canale Rosso is presented to the glass with a ruby red color with intense garnet reflections, with aromas on the nose recalling cherries, strawberries and toasted hints on the finish. The palate is intense, balanced and pleasantly tannic. Excellent in combination with the typical cuts of red meat of the Piedmontese tradition cooked on the grill, pasta dishes based on vegetables and mixed meats. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.

The Giovanni Rosso identity is easily recognizable in the vineyards that the family has chosen since 1906 in the Serralunga d'Alba area. Identity and elegance, today the company is led by the fourth generation with their son Davide, an enologist with a strong experience in Burgundy, driven by the deep conviction that wine must be the perfect copy of the terroir. The winery has 10 hectares divided between the best Cru of Serralunga d'Alba and 6 hectares recently acquired on the slopes of Etna in Sicily. The winemaking and work in the vineyard follow a rigorous and traditional style, exploiting only indigenous yeasts and without the use of herbicides in the vineyard. Giovanni Rosso’s wines are among the most faithful expressions of the territory of Serralunga, with an excellent balance and drinkability.
