The Donnafugata winery was founded in Sicily by the Rallo family, who, driven by passion, have succeeded in raising the profile of Sicilian wine worldwide. Ben Ryé grappa is produced by distilling the dried Zibibbo pomace from the production of passito wine in a pot still, a process followed by a long ageing in small oak casks. In the glass, this spirit displays golden hues and a characteristic citrus note that unfolds into a variety of fresh and candied fruit notes: from citron to peach, from apricot to exotic fruit, with an elegant vanilla finish.
A spirit for contemplation, yet also perfect for sipping after a meal accompanied by dry pastries; surprisingly delightful when enjoyed in small sips alongside mature and spicy cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 12–14°C.
