The Grande Cuvée by Luigi Moio describes the 20 years of the Quintodecimo winery, crowning the dream of the family. Il Greco is obtained from a single parcel of the Tenuta del Giallo d'Arles located in Tufo. The soil is marly-sandstone with a high content of clay and a good supply of limestone. Falanghina comes from the middle strip of the small hill of Quintodecimo in Mirabella Eclano, with a soil rich in clay. Fiano comes from a selection of the Exultet vineyard, located in Lapio in one of the most renowned points for the cultivation of Fiano di Avellino DOCG. The soil is crossed at about one metre of depth by a band of lapilli which, due to their porosity, favour a constant water supply to the vines. Grande Cuvée is therefore made up of a blend of 40% Fiano, 40% Greco and 20% Falanghina, after manual harvesting the grapes are subjected to a soft pressing. The fermentation takes place for 60% in new French oak barrels and for 40% in stainless steel tanks at a temperature between 18/20. At the end of fermentation the wine ages for 8 months on the lees, of which six after the blending of the three mono-varietal wines. After bottling, the bottles rest for another 2 years in a horizontal position, allowing the wine to reach its most complete expression. Grande Cuvée Luigi Moio is rich in aromas of exotic fruit, yellow peach and floral and mineral notes, which are then found on the palate with a long persistence. Perfect wine to accompany fish dishes. To fully appreciate the style, Grande Cuvée should be served at a serving temperature of 10/12 ºC.
