TASTING NOTES

Production

Schioppettino MYO is a balsamic and spicy wine: after harvesting, the grapes macerate for 15 days, with two daily pump-overs, and ferment in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in new and second-use barriques for a period of 12 months, during which malolactic fermentation also takes place.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Pale ruby red in colour with light garnet-tinged highlights, Zorzettig’s Schioppettino is dominated on the nose by spicy notes, enhanced by hints of very ripe red fruit. On the palate, it is full-bodied, rounded and complex yet smooth. It finishes with a lingering aftertaste.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfect with game and red meat main courses, it is also worth trying with a selection of mature cheeses. It is an absolute must-try with the traditional Friulian dish, brovada and muset.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Annalisa Zorzettig

The history of the Zorzettig family in wine begins more than 100 years ago, on the hills of Spessa di Cividale in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, an ideal place for viticulture thanks to a unique terroir and microclimate, protected by the Alps from the cold currents of the north and kissed by the breezes of the Adriatic Sea. The family produces about 800 thousand bottles divided between autochthonous and international. Nature, authenticity, evolution and quality are the words that guide the thought and work of Annalisa Zorzettig, who took over the management of the homonymous family winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Annalisa Zorzettig - Strada di Sant'Anna, 37 - 33043 Spessa (UD). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
