TASTING NOTES

The Boccadoro winery has cultivated excellent grapes used for the best bottles of Franciacorta DOCG for years. The recently built winery has been run by the Lussignoli family since the 1970s and works on an organic basis, with the aim of concentrating more on the intervention of nature and paying more attention to the vines. The wines of the Boccadoro winery are the result of work that tends to preserve the flavour and aroma of the land, while maintaining the original taste of the grapes, obtained through a combination of tradition and technology. Franciacorta Brut is made from 83% Chardonnay and 17% Pinot Bianco grapes from vineyards located on the gentle, sunny, south-facing hillsides between Calino and Cazzago S.M. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand in small perforated boxes and are vinified separately, through the application of a strict winemaking protocol. Ageing lasts for a minimum of 25 months on the lees in the dark, cool cellars of the Boccadoro winery. Intense straw yellow in colour with golden reflections, this Franciacorta Brut reveals delicate notes of yeast on the nose combined with typical sensations of yellow fruit and white flowers. Balanced and persistent on the palate, with pleasant citrus notes on the finish. Excellent as an aperitif, it also goes well with delicate fish or vegetable starters. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Boccadoro

Cantina Boccadoro is young but the experience and passion come from the Lussignoli family, which has a great winemaking tradition behind it. The first Boccadoro label arose in 2014, but actually the company decided to opt for organic farming from the very beginning, exposing itself to the intervention of nature and paying more attention to the vineyards and their development. The soils, located in Cazzago San Martino, are all owned by the Lussignoli family. They are mostly stony and calcareous, giving the wine full flavour, minerality and freshness. The proximity to Lake Iseo and the presence of its winds play a very important role in guaranteeing the perfect microclimate for the production of top-quality wines, with a good temperature range and optimal ventilation for dry, firm grapes. From this magical place, Franciacorta presents itself as it is: a clearly visible amphitheatre. Name and address of producer/distributor: Cantina Boccadoro, Via Loc. Boschi, n.10 25046 Cazzago San Martino (BS). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
