Etna Rosso Pietrarizzo comes from the district of the same name located on the northern slope of Etna, known as the most suitable for high quality production. More precisely we are in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, 650 metres above sea level. Etna Rosso is made with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes. The grapes are harvested manually and also selected in the cellar, destemmed and not crushed, aged in cement tanks where they macerate for about 10 to 12 days. Once fermentation is complete, the grapes are left to macerate for a few more days, traditionally drawn off and pressed. Ageing takes place in large wooden barrels for about 6 months and 3 months in the bottle. In the glass, Etna Rosso is ruby red with soft violet reflections. On the nose there are evident hints of red berry fruits: marasca cherry, black cherry. On the palate it stands out for its balanced tannins and fullness. Sapid and long finish. Wine with an intense and spicy aroma, which goes well with roasts, stews and meats.
