TASTING NOTES

Pignoletto Classico Vigna Antica is a still and dry white wine produced by the Tenuta Bonzara company, part of the Colli Bolognesi DOCG. Tenuta Bonzara is located a few kilometres from the busy city of Bologna, nestled in the hills of Emilia-Romagna. Within this area, which is particularly suitable for the cultivation of vines, Tenuta Bonzara has been producing quality wines for about sixty years, reflecting the love and passion for this territory of the Lambertini family, who own the estate. In this beautiful setting surrounded by greenery, since 2004 the well-kept estate has also become a perfect venue for weddings and private events, including corporate meetings and team building activities. Tenuta Bonzara produces a variety of labels: from wines produced with the classic native grapes, including Pignoletto (Grechetto Gentile), to international varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A kaleidoscopic assortment of wines, from the freshest and crispest varieties to more complex ones with a lingering finish. From the native Pignoletto grape, Tenuta Bonzara produces Vigna Antica Pignoletto Classico DOCG Colli Bolognesi. To make this wine produced with 100% Pignoletto, Tenuta Bonzara carefully selects the grapes, harvesting them by hand, when the bunches are fully ripe. The same attention is paid during vinification, which starts with soft pressing followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature. Further complexity is ensured by a subsequent period of ageing on the lees. Pignoletto Classico Vigna Antica therefore has an intense straw yellow colour in the glass, with golden reflections. On the nose it expresses evident notes of ripe yellow pulp fruit and other floral nuances. In the mouth there is balance between body, softness and freshness, with a persistent finish. Suitable for everyday drinking, it goes perfectly with fish or white meat dishes. Read more Read less

Even today, after fifty years in business, love for the area where the company is located is at the top of its list of priorities. For its vineyards, the estate relies on organic and sustainable cultivation that reconciles the region's oldest traditions with the most modern techniques, for a final product that can be surprising. The end result can be appreciated in every glass of the wines of Emilia-Romagna that they are able to produce with love and dedication, to tell the best of themselves and the territory.
