TASTING NOTES

Production

Chianti Rufina is the smallest of the Chianti subregions, and is considered among those best designed to ensure the uniform quality of the wines produced, so much so that it was officially mentioned by Cosimo III in his Edict of 24 September 1716, which classified the wine produced in this area among the best four in Tuscany. An extremely youthful wine, like the age of the grapes from which it is made. At least 80% Sangiovese, complemented by Canaiolo and other grapes named in the specification. Vinification in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation in cement, followed by ageing for about a year in large French oak barrels.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Its youth is reflected in the ruby red that animates the glass. The nose is a balance between flower and fruit, with the typical violet flanked by fresh undergrowth and cherry, with a slightly balsamic coating. The extremely delicate contribution of the wood keeps the red wine very drinkable and fresh, closing with a citrusy length.

Occasion and Pairing

A bottle you can uncork with pleasure every day, pairing it with white meats and vegetable dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Today the winery is run by brothers and cousins who share the tasks in order to cover all the roles of the company. Since 2011, the company has been working in certified organic farming, in full respect of the pristine Alpine natural environment. Grosjean’s wines are simple, straightforward and true to tradition.
