TASTING NOTES

Production

A Chianti Classico with a distinctly territorial character, consistent with the history of Tuscan winemaking, using only Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes grown on soils composed of calcareous marl and galestro, aged for 7 months in second-use French oak barriques and for a further 7 months in the bottle before release. 100 ml: E=328 kJ/78 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

The wine is a brilliant ruby red, moving with agility in the glass, unfolding into aromas ranging from violet to small red fruits, with a spicy touch of rosemary and pepper. The palate is fresh, consistent with the nose and supported by lively, perfectly integrated tannins, thanks to the balanced and unobtrusive use of oak, with a savoury, dry finish that invites you to return to the glass time and time again.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal as an everyday wine, this Tuscan red is highly recommended for the traditional pairing with grilled red meats and medium-aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Castellare

The activity of Cantina Castellare started in the 1970s in the heart of Tuscany and, since then, it has set itself the objective of making the most of the properties of the area, highlighting the clones of native vines. The close relationship with the land, study and care combine with the search for innovation to create truly unique Tuscan wines. Every detail of the company's commitment and passion can be found in the winery's prestigious bottles. Cantina Castellare is also dedicated to organic and sustainable viticulture not only in terms of respect for the surrounding area, but also to save energy during processing. The process of vinification by gravity, in fact, has the double advantage of preventing stress to the grapes and reducing the environmental impact of the production itself. With one eye on tradition and one on the future, Cantina Castellare asserts itself as an important estate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Castellare - Località Caselle, SP130, 53011 Castellina in Chianti SI. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
