THE WINERYMoët & Chandon
Since 1743, Moët & Chandon has shared the art of success and glamour around the world. Maison Moët & Chandon was founded by Claude Moët, and today represents one of the largest Champagne houses in the world and has become the world icon of French sparkling wines. Tradition, generosity, savoir-faire, boldness and elegance are the values that still determine the Houses's global appeal. Built on limestone soil at a depth of between 10 and 30 metres, the Houses's cellars are the largest in the Champagne region and are an ideal place for storing bottles after maturation. Unlike most Champagnes, Moët & Chandon's Grand Vintage are made from high-quality grapes from an exceptional vintage. Three main grape varieties are used in the blending of the entire Moët & Chandon line: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Moët's oenological savoir-faire consists of manual harvesting and blending of wines from different areas, grape varieties and vintages, followed by a period of ageing in the House's underground cellars. The most delicate phase consists of remuage and dégorgement, by Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez. Name and address of producer/distributor: Moët & Chandon, 20 avenue de Champagne, 51200 Epernay - France. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
