TASTING NOTES

Production

Clandestin’s Champagne Brut Nature Trilogie Km1 is made from grapes grown in the Côte des Bar using sustainable practices that respect the land. The blend primarily features Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from selected plots. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar, whilst the second fermentation follows the Méthode Champenoise. The Brut Nature dosage, with no added sugar, enhances the wine’s purity, tension and mineral character.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright straw-yellow in colour with a fine, continuous perlage. On the nose, it reveals notes of citrus, green apple and white flowers, accompanied by hints of bread crust, aromatic herbs and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, with great savouriness, elegant structure and a dry, long and precise finish.

Occasion and Pairing

An essential and refined Champagne, ideal as a high-end aperitif or paired with oysters, raw fish, shellfish and delicate cuisine.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 8–10°C.

THE WINERY

Clandestin

Clandestin is one of the most fascinating and unconventional realities of the new artisanal Champagne, a symbol of expressive freedom, precision and profound respect for the territory. Born from the meeting between sommelier and winemaker Bertrand Gautherot and the young talent Benoit Doussot, the project comes to life in the heart of the Cote des Bar with the aim of producing authentic, pure Champagnes radically linked to their origins. Clandestin's philosophy is based on a minimal and rigorous approach: every wine must be the sincerest expression of terroir, without artifice or superfluous intervention. The vineyards, cultivated according to biological and biodynamic principles, are located on Kimmeridgian soils rich in limestone and marine fossils, the same ones that characterize some of France's largest wine-growing lands. Here Pinot Noir finds one of its most vibrant and territorial interpretations, capable of combining energy, depth and finesse. In the vineyard, work follows natural rhythms, with sustainable practices and low yields aimed at preserving soil vitality and grape quality. In the cellar, winemaking takes place with spontaneous fermentations, minimal use of sulfur, and long refinements, while fully respecting the raw material. Many cuvées are vinified without dosage, a choice that allows you to express with absolute precision the purity of the fruit and the identity of the terroir. Clandestin Champagnes are distinguished by a tense, vertical and deeply mineral style, characterized by great energy and extraordinary drinkability. Each bottle tells a contemporary and free vision of Champagne, far from convention and close to the truth of wine. Each Clandestin cuvée is an intense and luminous sensory experience, an authentic tale of the Cote des Bar and its purest and most vibrant soul. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Clandestin – Cote des Bar, Champagne, France. Wines should be stored in a cool, dry place, far away from heat sources and direct light.
