TASTING NOTES

Production

The Brunello di Montalcino by Altesino is a Tuscan red wine, made from 100% Sangiovese grapes that undergo traditional fermentation, followed by over 4 years of aging in wood, with a mandatory 2 years in oak. It is then further aged in the bottle for 4 months.

Organoleptic Characteristics

It has a ruby red color with subtle garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases an intense and broad bouquet with hints of violet and pleasant underbrush notes. On the palate, it is dry, intense, and full-bodied, with tannins that are still firm but of extraordinary elegance.

Occasion and Pairing

A wine that, despite its importance and structure, pairs wonderfully with a pleasant family lunch, perhaps accompanied by a succulent veal tagliata.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Altesino

In the heart of southern Tuscany, among the gentle contours of the hills and fragrant vines, there remains an intact and largely wild landscape: Montalcino. Even today, the name alone is a true synonym for quality Tuscan wines, rich in tradition and character. In this area, in fact, tradition imposes a deeply respectful relationship between man and nature: this has contributed to keeping the charm and uncontaminated magic of the entire area intact over time. It is no great surprise therefore, that the entire area has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, precisely because of its precious biodiversity, and takes its visitors' breath away. There is a special relationship that links Montalcino and its wines: a relationship built on tradition and innovation, age-old culture and science, that has shaped the landscape in the way we admire it today and, above all, has characterised the socio-economic aspect. In this unique setting stands Altesino. Name and address of producer/distributor: Altesino - Strada Provinciale del Brunello, 53024 Montalcino (SI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
