TASTING NOTES

Biondi Santi's Brunello di Montalcino is made exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso grapes, which are hand-selected from the estate’s vineyards. In the cellar, the must ferments in cement vats with native yeasts and ages for 3 years in large Slavonian oak barrels, in keeping with tradition. A wine full of light and energy, it offers a crisp bouquet of fruit notes with prominent aromas of cherry, sour cherry, orange, and small red berries. Balsamic sensations and hints of aromatic herbs accompany the palate, offering both sweetness and energy. Silky tannins gently caress the entrance, leading to a long finish marked by elegance and balance. The wine's savoriness leaves a delightful feeling of freshness. A true masterpiece, Brunello di Montalcino Biondi Santi is an exceptional wine for meditation or to pair with aged cheeses. To fully appreciate its style, this Brunello di Montalcino should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Biondi Santi

In the area of Montalcino and Pienza in the province of Siena, is the Biondi Santi winery, on the Tenuta Greppo estate. In an area known worldwide for its fine Tuscan red wines, Biondi Santi stands out for its Brunello, which has been produced, innovated and improved since the 19th century. After Clemente Santi started winemaking thanks studying the Sangiovese Grosso typical of the area, the winery still remains closely linked to its origins and history, recognised internationally for the production of sophisticated, elegant and refined wines. All while paying the utmost attention to organic and sustainable viticulture. With 25 hectares of vineyards, the estate produces no more than 80,000 bottles a year, including 10,000 of Brunello Riserva. The prestige of these Tuscan wines is influenced by many factors. Only the best grapes are selected, from vineyards that are at least 10 years old - and 25 years old for the Riserva. After being harvested completely by hand, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and fermented, which takes place at a controlled temperature in cement vats and tanks. Finally, the wine ages in oak barrels and is bottled no less than four years after harvest. Name and address of producer/distributor: Biondi Santi - Villa Greppo, 183, 53024 Montalcino - Siena - Italia. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
