TASTING NOTES

Production

Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC is made with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It is aged for 24 months in French oak barriques, followed by a further aging period in the bottle.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it appears with an intense ruby red color, with garnet hues if from a previous vintage. On the nose, it immediately expresses fruity notes of ripe cherries, black currants, and blackberries, alongside hints of Mediterranean scrub, such as rosemary, and a potpourri of dried flowers, tobacco, and cocoa. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, elegant with well-integrated tannins and a freshness that makes it full-bodied. It impresses with its persistence.

Occasion and Pairing

Sassicaia is a wine that does not fear time; rather, it benefits from it. Ideal for special occasions, it pairs wonderfully with refined main courses of red meats or game.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18-20°C.

THE WINERY

Tenuta San Guido

Tenuta San Guido has a very ancient history. Suffice it to say that it owes its name to St. Guido della Gherardesca name that has been linked to the territory in which it stands for centuries. It is located in Tuscany, in the Maremma area between Livorno and Grosseto and a short distance from the Etruscan Coast. That same area that has always enchanted poets and artists of all kinds, and that Giosuè Carducci made famous among lovers of literature; but it is also the area where Tuscany's winemaking tradition has been carried on for centuries with passion and dedication. Since its founding, the winery has set itself the delicate goal of telling the story of the land to which it belongs by producing Tuscan wines of the highest quality, with the best grapes and the oldest knowledge. The desire to create a wine with excellent raw materials, the desire to represent Tuscany in the world and the passion for the territory can be found in every glass of the final product. The hectares available to the estate are raised different strains, including Sassiccaia and Bolgheri. Name and address of producer/distributor: Tenuta San Guido - Loc. Le Capanne, 27, 57022 Bolgheri (LI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
