TASTING NOTES

Production

Bolgheri Rosso Il Seggio is made from 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petit Verdot. After destemming and gentle crushing with partial crushing of the berries, this Bolgheri is aged for 15 months in 225-litre French oak barriques (30% new and 70% second-use).

Organoleptic Characteristics

On the nose, it reveals lovely fresh, crisp fruit, enriched with mineral and spicy notes. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with notes of red berries. The tannins are elegant, silky, enveloping and exceptionally smooth. The finish is precise, clean and lively.

Occasion and Pairing

Excellent with mature cheeses and game.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.

Poggio Celsi's winery was born in the southernmost area of the Montalcino DOC zone, a short distance from the Castello dell'Abate area. The strategic location of its total ten hectares, seven of which are planted with vines, is exploited to the fullest for the production of Tuscan wines of the highest quality, which can best tell not only the story of the land, but also of the winery itself. This young and dynamic company has been able to treasure the knowledge of the most experienced winemakers, and has combined it with the latest technology to achieve a final product that is both elegant and complex. Study and commitment have defined the character of the Poggio Celsi winery from the very beginning, resulting in multifaceted products with strong character.
