Made from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Vigna Rionda vineyard in the Me.G.A. (Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva) of Serralunga d'Alba, the grapes undergo fermentation and long maceration on the skins in oak vats at a temperature of around 30°C. It ages in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 42 months, followed by an additional 24 months of bottle aging.
Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda presents in the glass with a deep garnet red color. On the nose, it reveals broad and enveloping sensations, with notes of red fruits and florals, along with hints of underbrush, tobacco, and spices. On the palate, it is a unique, long-lived, and structured Barolo. It requires a bit of patience to express itself at its best, which is why it leaves the cellar after six years of aging as a Riserva.
A wine always in evolution, it pairs excellently with dishes based on meat, rich in intense and persistent aromas and flavors, as well as with aged cheeses. It can also be enjoyed as a meditation wine, perfect for those who want to relax and savor all its multiple qualities in their purest form, with the necessary time and calm.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18-20°C.
