TASTING NOTES

The Vietti winery was founded at the end of the 19th century by Carlo Vietti in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the Barolo production area immersed in the Langhe. Today, the Vietti name is recognised worldwide as one of the most important wine producers in the world thanks to the work of four generations and, above all, of Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado who introduced great little innovations such as the first production of cru Barolo, the vinification of pure Arneis and designer labels. A path later followed by his son Luca Currado Vietti and his wife Elena. Today, the winery has expanded thanks to the acquisition by Krause Holding, which left Luca and Elena at the helm of the company. The vineyards are all cultivated in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto and Barolo DOC. The main grape variety is Nebbiolo, responsible for the great Barolo wines, but Vietti also produces Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis. The terroir in this area is characterised by the production of wines with good structure and fruit but also elegance and freshness. Some can continue to age in the bottle for decades. The Vietti winery owns vineyards in some of the most important crus of Barolo including Brunate, Lazzarito and Ravera. Vietti Barolo Castiglione is a dry red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes cultivated on small plots of land scattered throughout the Barolo region. Harvested by hand, each plot is vinified and aged separately to accentuate its individual characteristics. Aged for 30 months in barriques and large barrels before blending. Intense ruby red. Ample and deep on the palate, with ripe red and black fruit, well-defined notes of cinnamon plum, liquorice with tobacco and leather. In the mouth it is rich and enveloping with soft tannins and freshness. Piedmont reds are perfect to enjoy at a special occasion, breath in before drinking or watch the wine change in the glass. Excellent with red meats, game and stews. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Vietti

In the heart of the Langhe, an area known for the production of the traditional Barolo, Cantina Vietti has stood for four generations. However, it was in the 1960s that Alfredo Currado revolutionised wine production, from monovarietal vinification to Etichette d'Autore, original Vietti wines created by artists and inspired by a specific vintage. In the following years, the Vietti family continued along the road of experimentation in search of quality, contributing to the creation of one of the most renowned brands of Piedmontese wine made in Italy. To this day, Cantina Vietti, acquired by Krause Holdings, combines the traditions and passion carried on for generations with innovative techniques to ensure the production of high quality wines and an a href="https://www.signorvino.com/it/vini/inno_alla_natura/">viticoltura and sustainable viticulture that enhances and safeguards the surrounding terroir. The end result of the excellent Piedmontese wines produced by Cantina Vietti, which convey the love for the surrounding area and the dedication of its producers, can be appreciated on the palate. Name and address of producer/distributor: Vietti - Piazza Vittorio Veneto, 5, 12060 Castiglione Falletto (CN). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
