TASTING NOTES

Production

The Nebbiolo grapes are cultivated using biodynamic farming practices. After harvest, they ferment in steel tanks with the presence of indigenous yeasts, then age for 24 months in both tonneaux and large oak barrels.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it presents an intense ruby red color, while on the nose, it is explosive with fruity notes of plum, citrus hints of cedar and grapefruit, and a spicy finish. As it evolves in the glass, scents of violet emerge, characteristic of the Brunate terroir. On the palate, it is intense and full-bodied. The tannins are soft, round, and velvety, typical of the La Morra area. The finish reveals a hint of licorice root.

Occasion and Pairing

Barolo Brunate pairs excellently with game dishes, roasted meats, or well-aged cheeses.

Serving Temperature

THE WINERY

Ceretto

The Ceretto winery was established in the 1930s: Riccardo Ceretto, who owned no vineyards, vinified by buying grapes from others. The turning point coincided when sons Bruno and Marcello joined the company and brought with them an innovative thought for the time: the importance of the land. If this seems obvious today, the Langhe of that time closely resembled the misery of peasant life. For Marcello, the harvest of 2020 was the 60th grape harvest spent in the vineyard, among the rows he knows so well, picking grapes and talking about rain, dryness, vine diseases with the grape pickers, staying in the country until it is time to return with the boxes of grapes to the winery. Today, the Ceretto family is engaged on several fronts with the common goal of making Italian excellence known around the world. From the vinification of the most important crus of the Langa, to the stellar cuisine of the Piazza Duomo restaurant in Alba, and ending with the art installations in the vineyards and cellars. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ceretto - Località S. Cassiano, 34, 12051 Alba CN. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
