Luciano Sandrone’s Barolo Aleste is produced from the finest vineyards of Barolo and Monforte d’Alba, using Nebbiolo grapes selected with great care for their quality and optimal ripeness. Vinification involves separate fermentations by cru in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with extended maceration on the skins to extract structure, aromas and elegant tannins. Ageing takes place in French oak barriques and tonneaux, partly new and partly second-use, followed by a further period in bottle to complete the wine’s complexity and harmony. The style aims to combine power, elegance and immediate drinkability without compromising the wine’s potential for development.
Visually, it is a brilliant ruby red with garnet highlights. On the nose, it is intense and refined, with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, small red berries and floral notes of rose and violet, accompanied by sweet spices, tobacco, cocoa and light balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, balanced and harmonious, with silky tannins, vibrant freshness and a solid yet elegant structure. The finish is long, persistent and complex, with fruity, spicy and slightly mineral notes.
A wine of great elegance and character, ideal for connoisseurs and special occasions. It pairs magnificently with red meats, braised dishes, roasts, game and high-quality mature cheeses.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
