TASTING NOTES

Production

Barbaresco Ovello is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes sourced from the Ovello Cru in Barbaresco. The grapes ferment in stainless steel and then age in French oak barriques for over 30 months, followed by a few months in steel. The wine then undergoes an additional 6 months of bottle aging.

Organoleptic Characteristics

This Barbaresco presents a beautiful, intense garnet red color in the glass. On the nose, it offers a wide and complex bouquet, with spicy and fruity notes, highlighted by aromas of ripe cherry and sour cherry. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, balanced, and has excellent structure.

Occasion and Pairing

The Barbaresco Ovello by Carlo Giacosa is perfect for enjoying with company during an important dinner, ideally paired with flavorful meat dishes, such as a hearty roast wild boar.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.
