TASTING NOTES

Production

Barbaresco Ovello is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the Ovello Cru in Barbaresco, which ferment in stainless steel and are aged in French oak barriques for over 30 months, followed by a few months in stainless steel. This is followed by 6 months of bottle ageing.

Organoleptic Characteristics

This Barbaresco presents a beautiful, intense garnet-red colour and offers a broad, complex bouquet on the nose, with spicy and fruity notes, dominated by hints of ripe cherry and black cherry. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, balanced and has excellent structure.

Occasion and Pairing

Carlo Giacosa’s Barbaresco Ovello is excellent for sharing over an important dinner, paired with hearty meat main courses, such as a fine roast wild boar.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
