TASTING NOTES

The Barbaresco Asili di Carlo Giacosa is an elegant red wine, produced with a selection of the best Nebbiolo grapes cultivated in the Asili cru in Barbaresco, with spontaneous fermentation for 45-60 days of maceration on the skins. It is then aged in French oak barrels. The bouquet is broad and floral with notes of sweet and ripe fruit. On the palate its taste is elegant, pleasant, balanced and of good structure. The Barbaresco Asili di Carlo Giacosa is perfect to drink in combination with main dishes based on red meat, such as roasts and braised meats or with a tasty risotto with porcini mushrooms. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Carlo Giacosa

Casa Caterina is a family-run winery located in Monticelli Brusati, in the north-eastern part of Franciacorta. Founded in the eighties by the Del Bono family, Casa Caterina is now led by the brothers Emilio and Aurelio Del Bono, sons of Francesco and Caterina, who are a testimony of their commitment to quality and sustainability. Del Bono have adopted a type of natural agriculture in their vineyards, inspired by the biodynamic one and following with passion the principles of respect for the biodiversity of nature and the territory. This approach is also reflected in the cellar, where indigenous yeasts are used and the use of wine additives, enzymes and exogenous sugars is avoided. The vineyards of the property extend over about 7 hectares that are among the best areas for viticulture in the area of Franciacorta. Each bottle tells the story of a territory and a family that is passionately dedicated to the art of winemaking. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Casa Caterina - Via Foina, 32 - 25040 Parmezzana Calzana (BS) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
