TASTING NOTES

Production

The Amarone Classico Riserva Quintarelli is born from a respect for nature in vineyard cultivation, a meticulous selection of grapes, and a strong connection to tradition. Since 1985, varieties such as Nebbiolo, Rondinella, Croatina, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Corvina, and Corvinone have regularly been used for Amarone Valpolicella Riserva. The drying of the grapes occurs completely naturally, through the development of noble rot. Fermentation takes place very slowly, and the future Amarone Riserva is aged in medium-small Slavonian oak barrels, where it matures for 7 years. During this period, further alcoholic fermentations occur, allowing for greater extraction of tertiary aromas, resulting in a dry wine of extraordinary structure and complexity.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet red color. On the nose, intense aromas of delicate bitter almonds with a cherry undertone can be perceived. On the palate, it is powerful, warm, and spicy.

Occasion and Pairing

Perfectly paired with game dishes, red meat, and grilled foods. A great wine for meditation.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

THE WINERY

Quintarelli Giuseppe

The Quintarelli winery is located not far from the centre of Cerè in the municipality of Negrar, on the Cà Paletta mountain in the province of Verona. It is located, to be precise, on the eastern side of the Negrar valley, while its vineyards face west. Its privileged position has immediately favoured wine production that is rich in character. In addition to the production of Valpolicella, Cantina Quintarelli is also and above all known for its large production of Amarone. Its work, its constant commitment and dedication to respecting the terroir and the unique timing of the wines, combined with the study of the most innovative techniques, has led this company to distinguish itself in the production of fine red wines from Veneto that tell the best of this region in every glass. The training system of the vineyards boasts two completely different methods: while in the old plantations the training system is Pergola Veronese, the Guyot method is followed in the new ones. The end result is a unique and lively product, all to be experienced. Name and address of producer/distributor: Quintarelli Giuseppe - Via Cerè, 1, 37024 Negrar (VR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
