TASTING NOTES

The Amarone Classico della Valpolicella Ravazzol is for Ca' La Bionda the company Cru: rich in aromas and great structure, its characteristics come from the soil in which the vines grow, mainly calcareous and rocky. The best grapes of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, after the harvest, are put to dry. This technique gives the wine great concentration and a bouquet of great intensity. It is followed by alcoholic fermentation and aging for 36 months in oak barrels and 8 months in bottles. In the glass, Amarone Classico has an intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, refined in aromas with fruity nuances of black cherry and dried plum. Spicy notes follow, coming from the aging in wood. The mouthfeel is deep, important, full and opulent, but with a good dose of freshness that gives balance and prolongs the persistence in the finish. To drink with red meat and game dishes or with blue cheeses. Perfect also to be enjoyed alone, in cold winter evenings. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Ca' La Bionda

In the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classico area, in the municipality of Marano di Valpolicella, lies the Ca' La Bionda winery. Founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani who always had a great passion for the cultivation of his vines and the vinification of his grapes, the estate covers an area of 29 hectares in the hills, on clay soil at an altitude of between 150 and 300 metres, and with a south-eastern exposure, a favourable position for ripening grapes. The quality of the wines is the result of a family tradition in which passion and sacrifice have gone hand in hand. For more than four generations, the winegrowers and winemakers of the company have dedicated themselves to the processes of cultivating, harvesting, vinification and marketing of Ca' la Bionda products, paying particular attention to the phases of natural drying of the grapes destined for the great wines: Recioto and Amarone, and subsequent ageing in special oak barrels. In the vineyard owned by Piero Castellani, current owner and namesake of the founder, no herbicides or chemical fertilisers are used, and dry stone walls have been restored to create terraces favourable to good maturation of the grapes for the creation of fine red wines from the Veneto region. Name and address of producer/distributor: Ca' la Bionda - Via Bionda, 4, 37020 Marano di Valpolicella VR. Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
