Giuseppe Quintarelli’s Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is produced in the hills of the Valpolicella Classica region from traditional native grape varieties – mainly Corvina and Corvinone, with Rondinella and other minor varieties – cultivated using methods that respect tradition and the local terroir. After manual harvesting, the grapes are placed in crates and left to dry slowly for several months in well-ventilated rooms, concentrating their aromas and structure. Vinification involves long macerations and spontaneous fermentation, followed by an extremely long ageing process in large oak barrels, which allows the wine to achieve extraordinary balance and unique complexity. An Amarone designed for time and slow evolution.
On the nose, it is deep, broad and constantly evolving, with notes of red and black fruit preserved in alcohol, cherry, plum and jam, accompanied by hints of spices, cocoa, tobacco, liquorice and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is powerful yet of great finesse, with an imposing structure, silky tannins, surprising freshness and an exceptionally long finish, delivering balsamic and spicy notes in the aftertaste.
A wine of extraordinary character and prestige, ideal for special occasions and moments of contemplation. It pairs well with substantial dishes such as braised meats, stews, game, elaborate red meats and very mature cheeses. It is also excellent enjoyed on its own, to savour every nuance.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–18°C.
