TASTING NOTES

Alois Lageder estate is one of the most famous estates in Alto Adige. Having been involved in viticulture since the late 19th century, the Lageder family has been working in the area applying biodynamic principles for a more natural and sustainable agriculture that can preserve environmental biodiversity and produce wines from the natural process of must transformation. Alois Lageder's Alto Adige Lagrein is a red wine from Trentino made from Lagrein grapes grown on vineyards in Bolzano located at an elevation of about 280 metres. After fermentation carried out with different percentages of the whole bunches, the wine finishes ageing for several months in large barrels. To the eye it is cherry in colour with ruby reflections. On the nose it releases an intense bouquet with spicy, fruity notes and hints of leather. On the palate it is a well-structured wine, fresh and rich in tannins. A perfect wine to enjoy with Sunday lunch paired with succulent red meats. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Alois Lageder

Alois Lageder is synonymous with outstanding quality in bio-dynamic wine-growing with its Alto Adige white wines. Tradition and innovation are skilfully combined in the company's production, creating a unique product that tells a story from the very first sip. The company philosophy is inspired by a holistic and sustainable approach, where productivity is closely linked with respect for the land and the vines themselves. The winery also plays a central role in the area's many artistic and cultural activities. Unsurprisingly, it is one of the most visited wine destinations in the entire region. Founded in 1823, with the current owner the winery is now in its fifth generation. The outstanding wines of the Alois Lageder winery represent the full diversity of the Alto Adige terroir. The rigorous selection of the best grapes, the attention paid to organic growing and the passion of the winery will result in a glass of the most authentic side of Alto Adige, which must all be experienced. Name and address of producer/distributor: Alois Lageder - Vicolo dei Conti, 9, 39040 Magré Sulla Strada del Vino BZ.
