Abate Nero

The Abate Nero winery, specialising in the production of sparkling wine in Trentino, owes its name to the man who is considered to be one of the creators of this drink: the French monk Dom Perignon, a fascinating figure shrouded in the mystery of his black habit. His mastery also inspired the founders of this winery, a group of friends united by their passion for wine, including oenologist Luciano Lunelli. Since 1973, they have pursued the noble goal of becoming a benchmark for the production of Trento DOC. The Abate Nero vineyards, arranged in the Pergola Trentina system, enjoy excellent exposure, in an area defined as mountainous, but that is actually hilly, between Trento and Lavis. Among the varieties cultivated are Chardonnay and Champagne, the basis of the prestigious Brut recipe, but there are also a few hectares of Pinot Noir, from which an excellent red is made. The sparkling process takes place in the Abate Nero winery, where attention and care are constantly at the highest level. Production is deliberately limited, promoting the craftsmanship and refinement of Abate Nero sparkling wines with their unmistakable Trentino flavour.
