Sforzato di Valtellina, also known as Sfursat, is a prestigious red wine produced in Valtellina, an alpine region of Lombardy. This wine is mainly made from Nebbiolo grapes, locally called Chiavennasca, which are subjected to a drying process similar to that used for sweet wines. It is distinguished by its complex and intense aromas, which recall ripe fruit, cherry jam, spices, tobacco and chocolate. The palate is full and enveloping, with soft tannins and a long persistence.
