TASTING NOTES

Pinot Noir Carina is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, vinified in part in whole clusters and without filtration. The addition of sulphites is minimal and the grapes come from the highest vineyards of the company. The aging in wood lasts about 18 months and gives elegance and an intriguing tannic texture. More intense color and a concentration of fruit and softness that balances in a captivating way with the freshness of the wine. Persistent and light spicy. Perfect for an important occasion, to be paired with red meat or game, as well as a plateau of cheeses not too intrusive, that go well with the elegance of wine. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC.

A small South Tyrolean company, born from Rainer Uhl's passion for wine, art and Italy. Renowned German researcher specialising in the study and realisation of precision optical instruments. About 10 years ago, the decision was made to invest in a charitable foundation that would bring together artists and scholars from various countries, a project that they decided to self-finance through a small farm managed in a sustainable way and with minimal impact on the environment. About 2.5 hectares of vineyards are located on slopes above Bolzano, between 700 and almost 900 metres. The production of about 6,000 bottles is concentrated on several Pinot Noir crus dedicated to his three daughters and his wife. All wines are fermented in special wooden vats that are empty on the inside, and then undergo ageing in used barrels of various sizes.
