TASTING NOTES

Tradition and family: these are the two key words that sum up the vision of the Monte Santoccio winery. The area, nestled between Lake Garda and the Lessinia mountains, has a long tradition of red wines, and is famous above all for the dried (passito) red grape wine, Recioto. Monte Santoccio's Valpolicella Classico is a Veneto red wine that most reflects tradition: made from Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara and Rondinella grapes, which, after rigorous manual harvesting, are pressed and after fermentation undergo a brief passage in stainless steel. In the glass it is a beautiful, lively ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose it is an explosion of freshness and (red) berry fruit, a sensation that adds to its drinkability. An excellent wine for shared moments and everyday life, we suggest drinking it as an aperitif wine or as a pairing with cured meats and cheeses that are not too mature.

The Azienda Agricola di Monte Santoccio has always aspired to a niche, carefully researched production that could tell the most intense side of Veneto in a glass. The winery's hectares are located in the Valpolicella area and, for this reason, it is dedicated to the cultivation of indigenous grapes above all: from Corvina to Corvinone, via Rondinella and Molinara, its production is based exclusively on indigenous grapes that can enhance the terroir and its unique characteristics. Since its foundation, the company has decided to focus on quality. The study of the soil and environmental conditions, the choice of the right vineyards and the care of the finest grapes accompany all stages of production, from the care of the vineyards to the final bottling.
