Production

Les Cretes identifies with the Aosta Valley landscape for its constant pursuit of quality in vineyard work, with particular attention to the terroir and the characteristics of the grapes, which are then enhanced in bottles. Pinot Noir Valle d'Aosta DOP is a 100% Pinot Noir, in which the grapes are destemmed and cryomacerated for 2 days. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled and constant temperature with daily reassemblies. Aged in stainless steel for 6 months. 100 ml: E=301 kJ/72 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

To the laden ruby red calyx, with fruity notes of red undergrowth fruit, with notes of sage. On the palate it is juicy and slightly savoury, with a fine structure and velvety tannin.

Occasion and Pairing

Ideal pairing with beef beat, rabbit rollè with olives, crespelle alla valdostana.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16°C.

The Les Cretes company was founded in 1989 in Aymavilles, in Valle d’Aosta, and is now run by the Charrère family. Five generations of history and tradition, the winery is distinguished by a quest for extreme quality from the work in the vineyard to the attention in the winery where territory and variety are enhanced and emphasised in the bottle. The grapes cultivated are the main indigenous varieties of the region and some international varieties, such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The agronomic management of the vineyards is based on respect for the environment through the enhancement of the terroir, with a view to organic and sustainable viticulture, combining traditional cultivation techniques with innovation and technological research. The wines from the Les Cretes winery come from a cold, rocky, mountain microclimate, where work is carried out with the utmost care and attention, in a continuous quest for quality.
