THE WINERY

Isole e Olena

Isole e Olena is located in the middle of the Chianti Classico, on the western side halfway between the historic cities of Florence and Siena at an altitude between 350-490 m. All wines are produced with only grapes from its own 56 hectares of vineyards owned since 1956 by the De Marchi family and directed by Paolo De Marchi since 1976. Thanks to this work, Isole e Olena is to be counted, with pride, in the small number of companies that have led the renewal of Chianti. In addition to the native varieties Sangiovese and Canaiolo, the Tenuta di Isole e Olena also grows international grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Chardonnay and Viognier. The harvest is carried out by hand, with a careful selection of the grapes and after fermentation, carried out in steel tanks and oak vats, the masses age mainly in first or several passes. Name and address producer/distributor: Tenuta Isole e Olena - Località Isole 1, 50021 - Barberino Val d'Elsa (FI). The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
