TASTING NOTES

Production

The Bel Colle winery was founded in 1974 on the chestnut-covered hills of Verduno, in the heart of the Langhe, born from the vision and passion of brothers Franco and Carlo Pontiglione and Giuseppe Priola. A winery that has always aimed to produce quality wines whilst respecting traditional methods and practices. In 2015, it was acquired by the Bosio family, who modernised the winery’s technology without compromising on tradition: vinification in stainless steel, and ageing of the great reds in large French and Slavonian oak barrels. A typical Piedmont wine made from the grape variety of the same name grown on the sandy hills, Roero Arneis di Bel Colle is made from 100% Roero Arneis grapes, which are gently pressed without the skins or seeds. This is followed by fermentation for 15 days in stainless steel at low temperature, using indigenous yeasts. This is followed by ageing on the lees for approximately 6 months. THE WINERY

Bel Colle

In the splendid setting of the Langhe, in Piedmont, stands the Bel Colle farm. Since 1974, its founders, the Pontignne brothers and their friend Giuseppe Priola, have aimed to bottle excellent wines, enhancing the tradition and uniqueness of the area that hosts them. The Bel Colle vineyards extend into an area particularly suited to the production of Barolo, on a chestnut hill. The plots are located between 300 and 400 meters above sea level, enjoying favorable exposure and microclimate that give the grapes an intense and persistent aroma. In 2015, the company was acquired by the Bosio family, who applied several technological innovations to production processes, while still respecting the values always promoted by the Bel Colle winery. Large French oak barrels hold the important reds for at least five years, before they are transferred to the bottle. Sipping Bel Colle wines, you'll be enchanted by the garnet reflections and the spicy yet delicate aroma, characteristics sought after by all lovers of Piedmontese red wines. Savor the wines of the Langhe of this fantastic winery. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Bel Colle - Via Castagni, 56 - 12060 Verduno (CN). The products of this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
