TASTING NOTES

Production

Mitterberg Gewürztraminer In Caso di Sete comes from the vineyards of Dornach in Salorno, Alto Adige, and is made from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes cultivated according to biodynamic principles on red clay soils rich in iron oxide. The wine undergoes extended maceration in stainless steel followed by fermentation in large acacia oak barrels, techniques that enhance the grape's aromatic richness and complexity. The result is an intense and distinctive white wine, marked by depth and remarkable drinkability. Per 100 ml: E=286 kJ/69 kcal

Organoleptic Characteristics

Bright amber in colour, it offers an intensely aromatic nose of grapefruit, lime and lychee, enriched by elegant floral aromas, particularly wild rose, and an intriguing spicy note. On the palate, it is fresh, vertical and deep, with a pronounced mineral character and engaging drinkability. The finish is long, persistent and rewarding, leaving a pleasant aromatic impression.

Occasion and Pairing

A distinctive and gastronomic wine, perfect for those who enjoy exploring original interpretations of aromatic grape varieties. It is ideal with flavourful and spicy dishes, exotic cuisine and recipes combining sweet and aromatic nuances. Particularly enjoyable with seafood, shellfish and Asian-inspired dishes.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its structure, elegance and complexity, this wine must be served at a service temperature of 8/10 °C.

THE WINERY

Ansitz Dornach Patrick Uccelli

Patrich took over the small plots of land in Dornach from his mother and began overseeing the vineyards, approaching biodynamics and becoming one of Alois Lageder's first members of the co-operative. For about 10 years now, he has been bottling his own wines following his idea of “sustainable wines”, whereby he tries to go beyond biodynamics by creating a farm that is as self-sufficient as possible. The location above the village of Salorno, a particularly cool and windy area at the bottom of Alto Adige, favours slow and balanced maturation. Everything in the winery is done with as little intervention as possible in order to keep the wines as light and drinkable as possible. Name and address of producer/distributor: Tenuta Dornach, via Dorna, 12, 39040 Salorno (BZ). Products should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
