The Donnafugata winery was founded in Sicily by the Rallo family, who, driven by passion, have succeeded in raising the profile of Sicilian wine worldwide. Made entirely from 100% Chardonnay grapes, Contessa Entellina Chardonnay La Fuga is a versatile wine with character. The grapes are harvested by hand during night-time harvesting to allow them to be processed cold, reducing energy consumption by 70%. In the glass, it has a bright straw-yellow colour, with floral notes and light tropical hints, such as pineapple and Golden Delicious apple. On the palate, it is savoury and fresh, with a pleasant touch of acidity.
Perfect for everyday drinking, as an aperitif, to accompany savoury tarts, but also risottos and fish dishes.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
