Tenuta Sant’Helena's “Rijeka” Collio Friulano comes from Vencò di Dolegna del Collio in Friuli Venezia Giulia and is made exclusively from Friulano grapes. The vineyards benefit from the distinctive Collio microclimate, protected by the Julian Alps to the north and open towards the Adriatic to the south, as well as from characteristic Eocene sandstone marl soils known locally as “Ponca”. The grapes are harvested in the first half of September and the wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks, preserving the variety's freshness, fragrance and distinctive character. 100 ml: E=310 kJ/74 kcal
Bright straw yellow in colour, with lively citrus reflections. The nose is delicate and pleasantly fragrant, offering aromas of white flowers, apple and pear, enriched by a distinctive almond nuance. On the palate, it is fresh, lively and smooth, with pleasant softness and an enveloping texture. The finish is characteristically slightly bitter, elegant and persistent, reflecting the traditional character of the grape variety.
Perfect as an aperitif and ideal with cured-meat starters and seafood first courses. It pairs particularly well with Prosciutto di San Daniele PDO, as well as fish, shellfish and light Mediterranean dishes.
To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 10–12°C.
