Charles Heidsieck was founded by Charles Camille back in 1851. Today, it is amongst the smallest of the Champagne Maison di Reims, but is of great value and quality. What makes this Maison so unique is its large underground chalk quarries that extend across 8 kilometres of tunnels, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs De Millenaires displays in a crystal glass with hints typical of Chardonnay. On the nose, there are ripe aromas of white peach, candied lemon, violet, acacia flowers, orange blossom and aromatic herbs. Entry onto the palate is characterised by an initial flavourful, chalky mouthfeel, which gives way to fragrant aromas of citrus peel, yellow-fleshed fruit, the softness of small pastries and Chantilly cream, giving an ample and generous, complex and rich palate, which lengthens towards a harmonious, fresh and remarkably persistent finish. Recommended for pairing with fish dishes: fish soup, seafood risotto, fish tartare.
