TASTING NOTES

Brunello di Montalcino Schiena d'Asino is made from only Sangiovese grapes that age for 42 months in 16hl Allier oak barrels. Schiena d'Asino is presented to the glass with an intense red color, thick and transparent. To the nose emerge hints of ripe plum and berries, with notes of Mediterranean scrub. The palate reveals its noble and austere character in the progression, compact and slightly savory, born to face time. Brunello excellent alone as a tasting, but also in combination with dishes based on wild boar meat or with a fillet. To fully appreciate its style, this Brunello di Montalcino must be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Mastrojanni

Since 1975, Cantina Mastrojanni has been writing Italian wine history with its Tuscan wines of excellence, achieving local and international recognition. One of the best-known producers of Brunello di Montalcino, the Mastrojanni winery has been able to make a qualitative change to the area's wine, employing traditional techniques combined with a strong passion for nature and the history of the land. The Mastrojanni farm is located in the heart of the Brunello land, in the province of Siena, where an ancient artistic and cultural tradition meet in an area dedicated to the production of this important wine, an area with varied and unique soils. Carrying on the traditions of Brunello processing, Mastrojanni opts to use brushed concrete vitrified wine vessels, essential in the micro-oxygenation process, to achieve the balance and taste of traditional Tuscan red wines. Today, the company works with more than 200 associate producers, involved in all processes, from grape picking to vinification in the winery, to ensure the production of a unique, high-quality Brunello di Montalcino. Name and address of producer/distributor: Mastrojanni - Poderi Loreto, 53024 Castelnuovo dell'Abate (SI). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
