TASTING NOTES

Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Ornellaia is a dry red wine produced by Ornellaia, belonging to the Bolgheri DOC. In this edition Ornellaia 2021 Vendemmia d'Artista has been interpreted by Marinella Senatore, an Italian artist with La Generosity through her chosen language: collage. The bottle is numbered and personally signed by the artist. Ornellaia is the result of a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. The nose reveals typical hints of Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs, cypress berries and classic scents of black currant and dark fruits, are accompanied by the tasting of a dense tannic texture, which fills the palate with precision and finesse. The finish is persistent, vibrant and brings with it a sensation of aromatic freshness and elegance. Wine for great occasions, it goes well with red meat dishes and main products, such as black truffle. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.

Tenuta dell'Ornellaia is located a short distance from the village of Bolgheri, Tuscany. Of all the wonderful farms in the region, this is perhaps the only one to stand on land praised by one of the greatest Italian poets of the 20th century: In fact, Giosuè Carducci had written a poem about the monumental cypress avenue that leads right to the Bolgheri area and the gentle contours of the hills dotted with vineyards. The area's enduring charm and privileged terroir location has motivated the work of the winery, which is driven to do more and more to produce Tuscan wines that live up to their provenance. A work marked by passion and love for the land and its unique characteristics, which was accompanied by a meticulous study of the latest technologies and techniques. Selective harvesting done by hand, microvinification and storage ageing lead to a flawless end result, perfect in every detail and rich in character.
