Bolgheri Rosso Superiore Ornellaia is a dry red wine produced by Ornellaia, belonging to the Bolgheri DOC. Bolgheri Rosso Ornellaia’s character of 2010 represents the 25th vintage of Ornellaia and the fifth edition of Vendemmia d'Artista "La Celebrazione", whose artist is Michelangelo Pistoletto. Pistoletto was born in Biella and internationally recognized as one of the most important and influential artists on the world art scene. This project aimed to put art at the center of intellectual debate, with the aim of pursuing a profound transformation of civil society. Michelangelo Pistoletto’s work revolves around a fundamental theme in his art and research: the mirror. For the artist, the mirror, in all its infinite forms, reflects both the viewer and the surrounding environment, introducing the work of art in a temporal dimension. For the 25th anniversary the entire production of Ornellaia was presented without label and with only the celebratory logo screen printed on the bottle in gold and ivory. Bolgheri Rosso Ornellaia is a blend of four international varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, an expression of a balance between the particularities of the vintage and the elegance typical of this wine. The glass has an intense and lively ruby color. The nose expresses nuances of ripe red fruits accompanied by spicy hints of vanilla and sweet tobacco, with hints of undergrowth and mushrooms. The mouthfeel is broad, full and soft, with elegant tannins and a good caloric presence, indicating a great aging capacity. The finish is persistent with mineral references and fruity pleasure. Wine for great occasions, it goes well with red meat dishes and main products, such as black truffle. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC.
