TASTING NOTES

Production

Barolo Cannubi is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, which are destemmed and gently crushed. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maceration on the skins lasting 20 days. The resulting wine is then aged in 500-litre French oak tonneaux for 18 months, followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Ruby red in colour with garnet hues, it reveals a bouquet of red fruit aromas such as cherry, with notes of cocoa and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, compact and structured, with a persistent finish.

Occasion and Pairing

It is the ideal wine to pair with truffle risotto and stewed game. Try it with a platter of cured meats.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 16–17°C.

Allergens: Solfiti

THE WINERY

Pico Maccario

The history of the Pieropan winery is long and very interesting: it has been going on for more than a century in the name of quality viticulture and love for the Veneto region. The company is located, specifically, in the heart of the medieval town of Soave. Here, in the historic Palazzo Pullici, four generations of the Pieropan family have handed down the family secrets for growing and the production of grapes and excellent Veneto wines that represent the best of the territory and its history. A great knowledge of the soil and raw materials was combined with a great passion and in-depth study of the subject matter, always keeping up to date. A strong entrepreneurial spirit has done the rest, and thanks to all these elements the company has succeeded in the delicate task of representing one of the most interesting realities of the Veneto region without ever losing its traditional imprint, while always keeping up with the times. Growing of grapes, pressing, vinification and bottling all take place on site, resulting in a final product that has followed each step meticulously and is ready to surprise you. Name and address of producer/distributor: Pieropan - Via Giulio Camuzzoni, 3, 37038 Soave (VR). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
