Bartolo Mascarello's winery is still owned and run by the same family today. Maria Teresa continues to produce wines with the same respect for local traditions and culture as her father Bartolo once did. A tradition in Langhe, the winery has never succumbed to modern ways but has continued its traditionalist style, even when fashions and easy money have convinced other producers to pander to the palates of mass consumers. Bartolo Mascarello's Barolo fascinates enthusiasts around the world because it is now very rare and has almost disappeared: a wine that is meticulous, authentic, complex and intense. The grapes used to produce this legendary label come from just 3 hectares located in the Langhe cru, including the San Lorenzo, Cannubi and Rocche vineyards. The grapes are vinified together in concrete tanks before ageing for 32 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Bartolo Mascarello’s Barolo has deep, complex aromatic notes and aromas of ripe fruit, black fruit, spices and dried flowers, and is ideal for keeping to cellar age. Fresh on the palate with fine, elegant tannins. This bottle is recognised among the great classics of the Langhe producer, a wine adored by all great red wine lovers. A perfect meditative wine, it is also excellent paired with mature cheeses or game.
