TASTING NOTES

Production

Barbaresco Karmico is a Piedmontese red made from 100% Nebbiolo, the grapes for which are grown in the municipality of Treiso, which, together with Neive and Barbaresco, make up the three municipalities of the appellation. Following a highly selective harvest, destemming and crushing, both maceration and fermentation take place in oak vats. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing, which lasts for 24 months and takes place in large oak casks.

Organoleptic Characteristics

In the glass, it is a beautiful garnet red with brick-red highlights. The aroma is intense and elegant, ranging from dried rose to fruity notes, with a spicy finish and balsamic undertones. On the palate, it is warm, full-bodied and well-balanced, with a slightly spicy finish.

Occasion and Pairing

An excellent wine for Sunday lunch, it is perfect paired with braised red meats or mature cheeses.

Serving Temperature

To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a temperature of 18–20°C.

THE WINERY

Mustela

In the hamlet of Annunziata di La Morra, for over 60 years, Marco Curto and his wife Adele have cultivated four hectares of vineyard on the hill of Arborina. Since the 2000s, their daughter Nadia, who, after having gained experience in another field, chose to pursue the careful and meticulous work of her parents, giving new life to the company. Nadia’s ability lies in finding her own way by taking inspiration from both of them and by taking advantage of the double savoir-faire from which she could draw. So in the vineyard he carries on a organic agricultural approach, putting into practice short macerations, pumping and daily fulling. All this is explained in the two versions of Barolo, inspired by modernism. Name and address manufacturer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Nadia Curto - Borgata Ciotto, 59 - 12064 La Morra (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
