TASTING NOTES

Pinot Noir by Weingut Gottardi is a guarantee of quality that best expresses the characteristics of a great terroir, historically suited for the cultivation of the vine originating in Burgundy. The color is a light ruby red with bright reflections. The nose is characterized by an elegant and refined bouquet, in which stand out the aromas of raspberry, red currant, strawberries, hints of undergrowth and aromatic herbs, light spicy sensations and a light touch of vanilla. The palate is harmonious and smooth, medium-structured, with subtle tannins and a pleasant and delicate aromatic facet. The finish is persistent, fresh and savory. This Alto Adige Pinot Noir is ideal in combination with red meat dishes or with cheese. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 14/16 ºC. THE WINERY

Bruno Gottardi

When it comes to Pinot Noir in Italy, the reference to the Gottardi winery is inescapable. In 1986, the Gottardi family acquired the first vineyard on the Mazzon hills, known as the paradise of Pinot Noir, and started making wine from their own grapes. After carefully restoring the rows of vines and building a modern vinification wine cellar, it was in 1995 that the first vintage was bottled, which immediately achieved very high levels of quality. Currently with around nine hectares of vineyards, the company is owned and managed by Alexander Gottardi, who has turned the high standards achieved in the past into a constant challenge for improvement and future developments. Between the rows of vines, the plants grow on soils rich in sandstone and limestone, enjoy a particularly favourable microclimate, and are cultivated with full respect for the environment, nature and the ecosystem. The altitude, the warm setting sun and the terroir make these hills an ideal place for the production of this variety. Mazzon Pinot Noir with its fragrant bouquet and unforgettable aroma has reaped countless critical and public successes and has been able to win the most coveted awards worldwide. Name and address of producer/distributor: Gottardi Alexander Waldemar 39040 Neumarkt-Mazzon (BZ). Products from this winery should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
