Guado al Melo

Nestled on the hillsides of Tuscany and surrounded by a stream of alluvial origin, the Guado al Melo vineyards stretch across the beautiful landscape of the Bolgheri DOC, dotted with pristine woods. The Guado al Melo farm is run by the family of Michele Scienza who, following the principles of sustainable agriculture, tries to limit intervention as much as possible both in the vineyard and in the production facility. Most of the vines are, in fact, of indigenous origin, and are treated avoiding manipulations that would change the natural characteristics of the grapes. For example, grass is allowed to grow at their feet in order to avoid the use of herbicides and to ensure a balanced hydration of the soil. Inside the Guado al Melo wine cellar, architecturally bewitching with the simple elegance of its colonnade, high-quality red wines are produced, without subjecting them to filtration or other invasive treatments.
