In the hilly area in the south-western part of the province of Bologna, not far from Montebudello, is La Mancina farm. Its cultivations extend over about forty hectares at an average height of 200 metres above sea level, in the “Colli Bolognesi DOC and DOCG” wine district. A strategic location that has been able to guarantee a high quality of cultivation and vineyards from the very beginning, which can be seen on the palate with the final product. Since its foundation in the early 1960s, the Zanetti family has been able to enhance the unique qualities of the region in order to create the wines of Emilia-Romagna that could tell the most authentic character of the region. Today, the company is one of the biggest local players, and is a reference point for wine production in the region. The predominant grape variety is the indigenous white grape variety Pignoletto, which provides about half of the total production. In addition to this, there are the cultivations of the red grape varieties of Barbera, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
