Fontanafredda was born in 1858 from the love story between the King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II and Rosa Vercellana. A community united around respect for the land, Fontanafredda now has 120 hectares, which frame the first Narrante Village of Italy located between the municipalities of Serralunga d'Alba, Diano d'Alba, Dogliani, Farigliano, Alba and Rodello, on an altitude range ranging from 250 to 420 meters above sea level, cultivated in Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Nascetta, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Moscato that represent the starting point for the quality of wines. The vineyards are cultivated by practicing organic farming, stimulating the symbiotic relationship between vineyard and forest with the respective wild fauna and flora. Keeping intact the soil characteristics, increasing the development of microorganisms that determine the amount of organic substance in the soil for the enrichment of biodiversity.
