TASTING NOTES

The Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova DOCG of Casanova di Neri, was born from an intuition of Giacomo neri who in 1987 chose the vineyard Le Cetine, in the south of Montalcino in Sant'Angelo in Colle. The terroir gives an elegant wine, of great structure and firm tannic grip. The wine ferments in steel conical vats and only indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation. It is then aged for 37 months in wood and 12 months in bottle before going on sale. The glass has a deep ruby red color of great density and clarity, with the nose of blackberries, raspberries and white pepper. The mouthfeel is tight, the fruit rich and jam in the mouth dragging. Tannins of fine grain and mathematical definition. Excellent in combination with meat dishes or mature cheeses. To fully appreciate its style, this wine should be served at a serving temperature of 16/18 ºC. Read more Read less
THE WINERY

Casanova di Neri

Cascina Fontana is a family-run business located on the hills of the Langhe del Barolo, near Alba in Piedmont. The family cultivates 5 hectares of vineyards owned and produces great wines of the territory for six generations. Today the winery is led by Mario Fontana who continues the tradition by cultivating the typical vines of the Langhe: Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo. Fontana works in full respect of traditions, favoring a organic farming system without added sulfites to make wines ready to drink and focusing on freshness and elegance. Name and address producer/distributor: Azienda Agricola Cascina Fontana - Località Perno di Monforte d'Alba (CN) - Italia. The products of this cellar should be stored in a cool and dry place away from heat sources.
